Yellow tomatoes are less acidic and are good for those with this dietary restriction. These can be grown in containers or greenhouses and then moved outside after frost danger has passed. Non GMO.
The yellow pear may be new to your garden this year, but it is an old, heirloom tomato. The name is descriptive, as this plant grows bright yellow tomatoes that are small and shaped like pears. They will grow to between one and two inches (2.5-5 cm.) in length when ripe. In addition to being tasty, colorful, and perfect tomatoes for snacking and salads, yellow pear plants are also desirable because they are productive. You can expect to get a steady and abundant supply throughout the summer.
It is a very old heirloom variety, already mentioned by name in the 16th century. Known varieties of this tomato exist under the names Yellow Pearshaped or Poire Jaune. The fruits grow in large luscious clusters. The shoots tend to become overloaded with the weight of the fruits and definitely need a good support. It's recommended to grow more than one single shoot in parallel on a trellis for a high yield. Non GMO.
