Heirloom Pepper Peperone "Corno Giallo". Mid-Early 8-12" long 2 " wide peppers. The Corno di Toro Giallo is an Italian heirloom pepper. It's name literally translates to "Bull's Horn" because of the long, tapered shape. The plants bear fruit that ripen from green to a vibrant yellow, and grow to 8-10 inches in length by 2-3 inches wide. The flavor is sweet and crisp, making the peppers ideal for so many types of cooking They are yellow, intensely sweet and meaty. They have thin skin and thick walls. It is a tall, vigorous plant. This is a treasured variety by Italians. The long, tapered fruits are thick-walled and burst with aromatic juiciness. 60 days green, 75-85 days to color. They taste best when they are not overripe, but rather slightly green.Ideal to stuff, fry, grill or roast.

A traditional favorite of Italy, Corno di Toro Giallo have a sweet, crisp, full-bodied flavor that makes them popular with Italian chefs, home gardeners and market growers.
When fully ripe the fruits are a gorgeous golden-yellow and grow 15 to 25cm (6 to 10in) long and 4 to 6cm (1½ to 2½in) wide at the top. Suitable for cultivation in the greenhouse or outdoors, they mature 70 to 80 days from transplanting. They can be harvested while still green or can be left on the plant to ripen.
These uncommon large fruited peppers are so popular that they have spawned an almost fanatical following. With thin skin and thick walls they are often served fried in Italy, they are also used in salads or stuffed, grilled with olive oil or in pizza and pasta dishes.
Uses for this pepper are seemingly endless from slicing into salads or stir fry, roasting in the over or barbecue, or stuffing with rice and herbs. A great alternative to the standard stuffed pepper and a great companion plant to its crimson red cousin, Corno di Toro Rosso.
