Di Spagna A Grano Bianco Late Pole Shelling Bean. White Spanish. (Phaseolus vulgaris) 80 to 100 days for full size. (Bean of Spain White Seeded) This bean produces broad, flat vivid green pods, with large white seeds flattened at the ends. The creamy seeds are considered by many to be the finest soup/chowder bean, yet these beans can also be picked young to be used 'in pod'. Ahuge white bean for use as a fresh, shell or dried bean. Pods are 9-10" long. As a bonus, you can pick them at 5-6" and eat them whole as a delicious green bean. Grows 7-8 feet. Good production of fresh shell or dry beans. Produces green flat pods 5-9 inches long with 5-6 huge white seeds. Makes great soup or the perfect contorno. If you pick them small (five inches or so) before they swell up, you can eat them whole as a green bean. Excellent flavor.
