Lettuce, Lattuga Ciucca

Lettuce, Lattuga Ciucca Alpine Lettuce Ciucca is a mid-early variety with round head, half opened and good dimensions.  The leaves are light, creased, tender and crispy green with a touch of red. A tasty red-tinged, green heritage variety that forms a lovely loose head, though usually used as a loose-leaf lettuce. Also known as ‘drunken women’. Highly popular for its outstanding flavour and crisp texture, the ruffled leaves add a colourful flair to a salad. Outstanding bolt resistant, colorful heirloom.

Water regularly and apply fertiliser weekly. Make successive sowings every few weeks. Water at base of plant, rather than overhead, to minimise risk of disease. Protect from snails and slugs.
