Tonda Di Piacenza - Summer Squash Early Round, dark, green zucchini from Northern Italy (Parma). Slightly ribbed with dark green skin and white meaty flessh. Stuff, slice, cook on grill or fry.
Courgette Tondo di Piacenza originates from Italy. It produces a prolific amound of round, dark green little courgettes with an exellent flavour. Harvest the fruits when they're as big as a tennisball. Courgette Tondo di Piacenza is also known as Round of Parma. It's a mid-early variety. Courgette is very healthy and versatile. You can cook, grill, roast, stew, fill them with minced meat or rice and very young and tender courgettes (till approx. 10 cm) can also be eaten raw. Add some courgette to soups or Italian dishes. Staminate flowers can be filled with cheese and covered with Tempura batter and deep-fried as an appetizer or snack. You can also make a healthy soup from large courgettes.
