Lettuce, Lattuga Romana Rouge D'Hiver. This Romaine lettuce, also called Cimmaron, is an extremely beautiful 1800s European heirloom. Its large, flat, broad leaves are sweet with a buttery texture. The color varies from green to bronze to deep red. Rouge D'Hiver is quick growing, and heat and cold resistant. Color varies from reddish-bronze to deep red on the tips with dark green bases. Good sized compact upright head.
