Chicory, Cicoria Pan di Zucchero. (80 days) Open-pollinated. MId Late. The name means ‘sugar loaf’ in Italian. If you associate chicory with bitterness, heirloom Pan di Zucchero will surprise you. A big standout; delicious when cooked. Its 1' tall large tight light green leaves are shaped like a romaine lettuce crossed with a napa cabbage. It is very long, upright, tightly wrapped substantial head of notable weight. High yielding, best as a fall crop.
